CLASSICAL BALLET - CONTEMPORARY DANCE - CHARACTER DANCE:
Pre-competitive
6-8 years old by 01/09/2026
SOLO/VARIATION (open category, time limit up to 3 min)
NO POINTE SHOES ALLOWED!
Pre-Competitive solo dancers are not restricted to the classical repertoire list. They may perform age- and skill-appropriate choreographed numbers, classical ballet repertoire variations and/or Contemporary/Open solos.

IDTCI has a NON-REFUNDABLE POLICY. All fees must be paid at the time of registration, after creating your own account directly on the registration page. All fees are non-refundable for any reason whatsoever. THE COMPETITION IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CANCELLATIONS due to natural disasters, earthquakes, war or pandemics.
NOTES
Contestants may perform multiple entries in all categories.
Classical choreography for the Solo Classical Junior II and up divisions must adhere as closely as possible to the original and may not be presented in any contemporary rendition. Please be advised that this requirement will be strictly enforced. Failure to comply with this rule may result in the participant(s) being disqualified.
For the purpose of this competition, Contemporary choreography (Solo and Duet) is understood as pieces using modern, contemporary or neoclassical vocabulary, choreographed from 2016 onwards.
In the Ensemble Classical division, choreographies using classical ballet and neoclassical vocabulary may be presented.
In the Ensemble Contemporary division, pieces using contemporary, jazz or modern vocabulary may be presented.
In the Ensemble Character Dance division, choreographies using character dance or folk dance vocabulary may be presented.
All pieces presented in the Contemporary Dance Solo, Duet and all Ensemble categories/divisions are eligible for the Best Choreography Award.
Participants residents in China!
All participants from China(residents in China) shall complete registration via the International Art Information Platform (IAIP).
